SJU Mens Soccer Canceled on Wednesday; Wingert Named Tri-Captain

The match against the Red Flash was postponed due to scheduling conflicts for St. Francis following last weeks tragic events in New York.
The Red Storm will play next on Saturday, September 22, hosting Georgetown in a BIG EAST match. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at DaSilva Memorial Field.
In addition, Head Coach Dave Masur announced that sophomore center-back Chris Wingert (Babylon, N.Y.) was named a tri-captain of this years Red Storm team. He joins seniors Shalrie Joseph (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Jeff Matteo (Stormville, N.Y.), who were named prior to the start of the season.
Second-ranked St. Johns has opened the season with wins over Indiana and Butler at the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic and over Providence in the teams first BIG EAST match. Joseph, who leads the team in scoring with two goals and two assists (six points), was named National Player of the Week by CollegeSoccerNews.com, while junior goalkeeper Guy Hertz (Trenton, N.J.) has been BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week twice this season.
