DARYLL:
Hello Red Storm fans. I'm excited to be doing this on-line column for you all this season. It's special to me, and be sure to send in some questions. For my first column, I'd first like to talk about our last couple of weeks.
I'm really excited for the first day of basketball season today. It's a chance to see how our team performs after all of our preseason workouts and conditioning. I'm happy that the season is here.
I think that we have a good team, and that we're in shape and ready to go. I think we'll be ready to compete with everybody if we all play together and play hard.
This offseason, we worked on a lot of conditioning and running, but also picking each other up. We've really become like a family and we enjoy being together. We're really sticking together and having everybody get on that same page. When things come up, we've learned to handle them together. We've all been working out to be in good shape for today, the start of practice. We've been together a lot and everyone's really connecting well as a team.
Also this summer I played in the Rucker League. I had a lot of fun out there with the big crowd of family and friends and fans, and I like doing it to give something to the community as well. My cousin Lamar Odom played there this summer, and Jamaal Tinsley and Kobe [Bryant] came once. Baron Davis was there as well, also some rappers like The Game - he can play a little. But it's mostly NBA players.
Classes are going well for me this semester. I like a lot of my professors and I feel that I'm learning a lot and improving. I'm taking a philosophy class, an English class, language arts and sports management.
Well, that's all for now. I'll talk to you next week!
