NEW YORK -
- St. John's shot 47.1 percent (24-51) from the floor and the team has now shot over 40.0 percent ten times this season.
- For the first time in six BIG EAST contests this season, the Red Storm was outrebounded as Pittsburgh won the battle of the boards, 36-29. In the previous five conference games St. John's had been 4-0-1 in the rebound battle.
- Anthony Mason Jr. set a new career-high with a game high 29 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the floor, including 3-of-4 from long range.
- The point total for Mason Jr. marked the most points for a member of the Red Storm since Lamont Hamilton scored 36 points against Columbia in a 76-70 win on Dec. 23, 2006.
- Mason scored 15 in the first half alone on 6-of-7 shooting.
- Mason Jr. also scored 12 consecutive points for the Red Storm in a span of 8:25 during the second half of action.
- In his second career start, and first BIG EAST start, Dele Coker grabbed two rebounds and added his second career steal.
- Against his hometown team and high school teammate, DeJuan Blair, D.J. Kennedy finished with seven points and two rebounds.
- Larry Wright tied a career high with three assists. Wright was also 0-for-3 from long range, snapping streaks of seven consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer and five consecutive games with at least two 3-pointers.
- Sean Evans blocked a career-high two shots and added four points and four rebounds.
