Darby Releases Men's Golf Spring Schedule

QUEENS, N.Y. - Head coach Frank Darby released the men's golf spring schedule earlier this week which tees off in 2009 as the Red Storm hosts its second annual tournament in Puerto Rico. The St. John's squad also makes trips south to Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and New Jersey.
St. John's will travel to Humacao, Puerto Rico, on March 9-11 to host the Palmas Del Mar Classic at the Flamboyan Resort to begin its spring season. This is the second straight year that Darby has hosted the event. Last season, the Red Storm took third overall as alumnus Keegan Bradley took the individual title.
The Red Storm rounds out March with two trips south. St. John's visits Greensboro, Ga., on March 20-21 at the Linger-Longer Tournament hosted by Mercer University at the Reynolds Plantation. The squad then travels to Delray Beach, Fla., for the Ohio St. Spring Break Championship at the Gleneagles C.C.
St. John's also has three events in April - the Pirate Invitational in Greenville, N.C. on April 3-5, the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J. on April 10-11 and the BIG EAST Championship on April 19-21. This year's BIG EAST Finale will be held at the Lake Jovita C.C. in Tampa, Fla.
The Red Storm will be looking forward to May as the NCAA East Regional will be held on May 14-16 at Galloway National in Galloway, N.J., This season's NCAA Championships is on May 24-26 in Toledo, Ohio at the Inverness Club.
