- St. John's is off to its best start since opening the 1994-95 season with a 7-0 mark.
- The Red Storm began the contest with 12-1 run in the opening 3:56.
- Malik Boothe connected on his first 3-pointer of the season to stake St. John's to a 3-0 lead.
- With a 6-for-17 (35.3 percent) performance from 3-point land, the Red Storm registered at least six 3's in a game for the third time this season. St. John's is connecting on an average of 5.7 3-pointers per game.
- The Red Storm had 10 steals and turned 16 Stony Brook turnovers into 16 points. St. John's is forcing an average of 15.2 turnovers per game.
- For the fourth time this season, the Red Storm won the battle of the boards with a +8 (39-31) advantage. St. John's is outrebounding the opposition by an average of +3.3 per game.
- D.J. Kennedy scored a game-high 19 points, leading St. John's in scoring for the fifth time in six games this year.
- After posting nine points and eight rebounds in the first half, Sean Evans finished just shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
- Dwight Hardy made at least one 3-pointer for the sixth-straight game with a 1-for-4 effort from 3-point range. The junior is 11-for-27 (40.7 percent) on the season.
- Justin Brownlee reached double-figures second time in his Red Storm career with 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor. The junior also tied a career-high with seven rebounds, including a game-high four on the offensive end.
