Red Storm Competes In Linger-Longer Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's men's golf team (86-over 950) finished 13th at the Linger-Longer tournament in Greensboro, Ga. The three-round event was held at the par-72, 7,048-yard Reynolds Landing Golf Course.
Junior co-captain Mike Ballo Jr. led the Red Storm with a 13-over 229 and finished 38th overall. St. John's faced a tough field including the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and No. 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Senior Casey Calmi carded an 18-over 234 and placed 53rd. Sophomore transfer John Kahlden shot a 29-over 245, while fellow sophomore transfer Mark Costanza recorded a 31-over 247. Senior Kevin Velardo rounded out the starting five for the Red Storm with a 19-over 163 in two rounds.
Head coach Frank Darby and the St. John's men's golf team is back in action on March 27-29, when the team competes in the Spring Break Championship at the Gleneagles Country Club in Delray Beach Florida. The three-day event is hosted by Ohio State.
