QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's sophomore goalkeeper Jeff Lowman was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced today.
Lowman tallied 15 saves in a 10-8 loss to then-no. 18/19 Yale at DaSilva Memorial Field. Despite trailing 7-1 at halftime, Lowman and the Red Storm defense held the Bulldogs to just three second-half goals as St. John's rallied to pull the score to 9-8 with just over three minutes remaining. Lowman held the Bulldogs to just one extra-man goal, killing off three-of-four Yale penalties.
This award marks the second-straight week that Lowman was honored by the BIG EAST. Last Monday, he was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for the team's 16-7 win over Holy Cross in the season opener.
St. John's remains home this Saturday, March 5, for a BIG EAST battle with Georgetown. Face-off is slated for 1 p.m. at DaSilva Memorial Field.
