QUEENS, N.Y. - Following a week that saw her record four goals, Rachel Daly has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced this afternoon by the league office.
Daly, a three-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week this season and the BIG EAST Preseason Co-Offensive Player of the Year, started her week off with a goal against Georgetown in the Red Storm's first BIG EAST loss of the season.
Three days later, Daly accomplished something that she had not done in over two years, registering three tallies for her third career hat trick. Daly scored in the 21st, 29th and 33rd minute, lifting the Red Storm to a 4-0 victory over Creighton.
On the season, Daly now has 15 goals, good enough for the BIG EAST lead and a number two ranking in the NCAA. Already holding the single-season record for goals with 23 in 2013, Daly's 2015 total is currently tied for third on the Red Storm's single-season list.
In a typical week, Daly would have ran away with offensive player of the week honors, but Elise Wyatt of DePaul, who the Red Storm travels to play on Sunday, recorded four goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for the Blue Demons.
