Morozova Named BIG EAST Player Of The Week

NEW YORK, N.Y.- After a standout week that saw her earn two-consecutive singles victories against Iowa State and Villanova, sophomore Anna Morozova has been named the BIG EAST Player of the Week.
Morozova has tallied 11 singles victories over the team's 14 matches and sits at 11-2 overall. Morozova won her tenth dual match of the season against Iowa State on Monday in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. The next day, the Yaroslavl, Russia, native helped the Red Storm earn its third conference victory by winning her match in the second singles slot 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
"Anna is a tremendous competitor and wants to improve every week," said Head Coach Eric Rebhuhn. "She lives to win and always focuses on fighting until the last point"
The St. John's women's tennis team is 9-5 overall on the season. Up next, the Red Storm travel to Virginia on March 28 to take on Old Dominion and William & Mary.
