QUEENS, N.Y - St. John's Volleyball head coach Joanne Persico has set the dates for the spring series volleyball clinics to be held at Taffner Field House on the campus of St. John's University.
The camps will be run by Persico, who last summer was selected on the USA Volleyball High Performance coaching staff which works to advance volleyball talent and build a stronger pipeline of athletes for the USA Olympic Teams.
A three-time BIG EAST Regular Season Champion and winner of the BIG EAST Tournament, Persico is a member of the 450-win club and has coached 12 AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans and 31 All-BIG EAST selections during her tenure at St. John's. Under the guidance of Persico, the Red Storm is the only program from the Tri-state area to ever advance to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
The three-day clinic begins on Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the second and third session on April 2 and April 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Top-level coaches and players will provide instructions and demonstrations to beginners, high school athletes and advanced players for both boys and girls from third grade to 12th grade.
The clinics will coach campers on their technical skills, technical awareness and love for the game of volleyball. The price is $40 for the opening session and $30 each for sessions two and three, but individuals can purchase all three sessions for just $90.
All campers will need to bring shorts, a t-shirt, sneakers, socks, volleyball kneepads, and a snack.
