Women’s Golf Announces Addition to Roster

Josefina Rendo will redshirt this spring and compete next fall
QUEENS, N.Y. (JAN. 11, 2023) – St. John's women's golf coach, Ambry Bishop announced the addition of Josefina Rendo, an incoming freshman from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Rendo will be arriving on campus for the spring semester, but will redshirt for the spring season, and will start competing for the squad in the 2023 fall season.
Josefina Rendo is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina before attending IMG Academy. Rendo has had an impressive résumé so far in her young career. The incoming freshman has three junior titles under her belt as well as a 2019 South American Team Championship title. In 2019 she won the Argentine Amateur National Championship shooting 66-72-73 in her three rounds of play. Also in that year, she placed third in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. In 2022 she racked in two more titles. In the HJGT Sarasota open she shot a 145 across two rounds of play to win the crown. Later in the year, she won the HJGT Winter Garden Junior Open with a 149 two round card.
Coach Bishop is excited to add Rendo to the roster, and the rest of the team will open the 2023 spring season February 11 in Melbourne, Fla. at the Columbia Classic.
