QUEENS, N.Y. – Senior defender Thomas Lamaille secured a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The Villejuif, France native has logged one goal and three assists in 17 appearances this season. Lamaille provided a primary helper against Stony Brook (Aug. 25), UAlbany (Sept. 1) and then-No. 6 Marshall (Sept. 14). He also logged his first career goal in the Red Storm's quarterfinal win on Saturday against sixth-seeded Seton Hall. The strike garnered him a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week as an Honorable Mention.
Lamaille has been instrumental to the Johnnies since his arrival prior to the 2023 campaign, logging nearly 2,500 minutes of action while making starts in 28 of 31 appearances. During his tenure, the defender has played a full game on 19 occasions and has helped the Red Storm to seven clean sheets in total.
Entering Thursday's semifinal matchup, St. John's has not allowed a goal against a conference opponent since its 1-1 draw against UConn on Oct. 26. The strike garnered him a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week as an Honorable Mention.
Third-seeded St. John's will head down to Boyds for the 2024 BIG EAST Soccer Championship, facing second-seeded Providence in a semifinal contest on Thursday at the Maryland SoccerPlex. The 5 p.m. slate against the Friars will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network, powered by FloFC.
