Ignacio Vinas Tabbed BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week

The senior’s victory against Northern Arizona clinched the Red Storm’s 14th consecutive victory to begin the season
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Ignacio Vinas of the St. John's men's tennis team has been tabbed the BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Vinas becomes the second Johnnie to earn the award this season after Leonardo Mileikowsky was previously tabbed Singles Player of the Week in February
The second-year Johnnie earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Northern Arizona's Jakub Prachar on the No. 3 singles court, clinching a 4-3 victory for the Red Storm. With the triumph, St. John's improved to 14-0, the best start in program history
Vinas is 8-2 in singles action this season and 6-3 in doubles action.
Following two matches in Arizona last week, the Johnnies will return to Queens on Wednesday to host Hofstra. First serve from the USTA National Tennis Center is set for 12 p.m.
