- Team Notes
- The attendance of 5,602 marked the first sellout at Carnesecca Arena since a Dec. 27, 2011 victory against Providence.
- The Red Storm improved to 5-1 this season when having four players finish in double-figures.
- St. John's fired at a 45.3 percent clip (24-of-53), its highest shooting percentage since shooting 49.1 percent in a win against Seton Hall on Jan. 27. The Red Storm improved to 15-2 this season when shooting better than the opposition.
- The Red Storm shot 75.0 percent (15-of-20) from the free throw line, its fifth-straight game shooting at least 70.0 percent. St. John's is shooting 74.1 percent (63-of-85) from the line in that stretch.
- St. John's committed just eight turnovers, the 11th time this season that the Red Storm has had fewer than 10 miscues. St. John's is 9-2 this season when committing less than 10 turnovers, including a 4-1 mark in BIG EAST action.
Individual Notes
- Sir'Dominic Pointer finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season, all three of which have come in BIG EAST action. Pointer also had a game-high six assists, his third game with at least six assists this season.
- JaKarr Sampson reached the 20-point plateau for the sixth time this season with a game-high 20-point effort. Sampson also grabbed seven boards and is averaging 7.3 boards in the past six games.
- D'Angelo Harrison scored 18 points to mark his 23rd double-figure performance of the season. Harrison was 4-of-9 from distance, his most made 3s since finishing 6-of-12 against Villanova on Jan. 2. Harrison also matched a season-high with five assists and had just one turnover.
- Marc-Antoine Bourgault started for the fourth-straight game and finished with 10 points for his third double-figure scoring effort of the year. Bourgault went 2-of-5 from distance to register his fourth multi-trey game in the past five contests and seventh overall. Bourgault is shooting 42.3 percent (11-of-26) from long range in the past six games.
- Phil Greene IV had five assists with zero turnovers. Greene has dished out 28 assists with just nine turnovers in 379 minutes of action spanning the past 12 games.
- Chris Obekpa had eight rebounds to go with two points, two assists and two blocks. Obekpa is averaging 10.0 rebounds in the past two games.
