Cook Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

Cook averaged 20.0 points and 9.0 assists, leading the Red Storm (9-6, 3-1 BIG EAST) to wins over Boston College and Rutgers last week.
In a 73-71 win over Boston College at Madison Square Garden last Wednesday, Cook scored a team-high 19 points and handed out 13 assists. He hit a three-pointer from NBA range with less than a minute left and then hit a free throw to seal the win for St. Johns.
On Sunday, he scored 21 points, handed out five assists (his lowest output since handing out five in the season opener), grabbed five rebounds and recorded three steals in an 80-71 win at Rutgers.
Through 15 games, Cook is leading the team in scoring (16.6 ppg) and in assists (9.5 apg), while grabbing 3.7 rebounds and recorded 2.5 steals per game.
St. Johns has won five of its last six games with Cook averaging 18.7 points, 9.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. In that span, he has connected on 48.0 percent of his field goals (36-of-75) and 48.7 percent of his three-point shots (19-of-39).
The Red Storm host Villanova on Saturday, January 20 at noon at Madison Square Garden.
