Red Storm to host winner of contest between Syracuse and Rhode Island
QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 21, 2019) – The St. John's Athletics Department has released ticket information for this Sunday's Men's Soccer NCAA Tournament Second Round match that will be held at Belson Stadium.
General admission tickets will remain $10 while groups of 20-plus and fans 12 or younger can purchase tickets for $5 each.
Per NCAA rules, St. John's students cannot be let into the stadium for free as they were during the regular season, but the University has agreed to purchase 200 student tickets that will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the game. Students can pick up their free tickets beginning at 4 p.m. at the Carnesecca Arena box office. St. John's students who do not make it in time to claim a free ticket can purchase admission to the stadium for $5.
St. John's will also host another installation of 1870 Court, providing fans with a pregame space where they can gather and interact with other Red Storm fans right outside the Belson Stadium gates. 1870 Court, which opens an hour prior to kick-off, features light snacks as well as a cash bar.
The Red Storm, making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2013 and hosting an NCAA Tournament game at Belson Stadium for the first time since 2012, received the no. 16 national seed on Monday afternoon. The Johnnies, who earned a bye to the second round on account of their top-16 seed, will play the winner of tonight's opening round matchup between Syracuse and Rhode Island at 7 p.m. in Syracuse.
Kick-off on Sunday is scheduled for 5 p.m. Fans who cannot make it to the game can watch live on ESPN3, as Drew Casey and John Fanta will call the action live from Queens.
