QUEENS, N.Y. – Three St. John's men's soccer players- Antonio Biggs, Ivar Nå Aga and Bjorn Nikolajewskiwere tabbed to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The CSC Academic All-District Team honor is presented to student-athletes that displayed success on the field and in the classroom. In order to qualify, individuals must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher, be at least a junior in academic standing and appear in 75 percent of the team's contests this past season.
All three honorees fortified a Red Storm backline that did not allow more than two goals during 18 regular season matches and outshot opponents 266-150. The three veteran defenders led the Johnnies to an NCAA Tournament berth last week at No. 17 West Virginia.
Biggs, a graduate student defender played all over the pitch for the Red Storm during his final season with the Red Storm. The Kingston, Jamaica native appeared in 14 matches, making 13 starts adding two goals and one assist (five points). The team captain logged goals in wins over Sacred Heart (Sept. 14) and Villanova (Nov. 1).
Na Aga made an instant impact in first year in Queens after transferring in from Division II Young Harris College in Georgia. The Odda, Norway product played 1,417 minutes, making the starting XI in 15 out of 16 appearances. The defender played an integral role in a pair of comeback victories during conference play the Johnnies. The senior dished out an assist during the come-from-behind victory then-No. 19 Akron on Oct. 3. The following week, Na Aga recorded the equalizer as St. John's erased a two-goal deficit to claim a 3-2 comeback triumph over Providence on Oct. 11.
Nikolajewski, an All-BIG EAST First Team selection provided a sizeable boost on both ends of the field after missing the first six matches of the season due to injury. The team captain came into the season without ever recording a goal and finished the season second on the team with four tallies. The Berlin, Germany went a perfect 3-for-3 from penalty spot, including the go-ahead goal in last week's NCAA Tournament First Round match against West Virginia. A model student, Nikolajewski holds a 4.0 GPA in the Sports Management Master's program.
The St. John's men's soccer team concluded the 2025 campaign with a 9-6-4 overall record and advanced to the program's 23rdNCAA Tournament in 35 years under Head Coach Dr. Dave Masur.
