St. John’s Welcomes Sports Nutritionist Adam Ross to Staff

Former AHL defenseman returns to Division I to direct and strategize the Red Storm’s nutritional program.
QUEENS, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2019) – The St. John's Athletics Department has announced the hiring of sports nutritionist Adam Ross to its staff for the 2019-20 academic year.
Ross holds a bachelor of science degree in nutrition and dietetics from Queens College and a bachelor of arts in communications from Merrimack. While at Merrimack, he spent four seasons on the blue line for the Warriors' ice hockey team. He is also certified by the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
The former defenseman of the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs heads back to the Division I level where he will aim to enhance the Red Storm's nutritional strategies. Ross brings a strong background in meal planning and performance nutrition counseling. His general experience with counseling includes allergy and intolerance accommodations, dietary restrictions, health concerns, personal preferences and eating disorders.
"My goal is to provide students the guidance and support they need to understand the importance of nutrition as it pertains to their athletic and personal goals," Ross said.
Ross has already implemented a Fueling Station in the Carnesecca Hall of Fame Room for student-athletes to assist in the Red Storm's nutritional development.
