Miguel Diaz Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The Brooklyn, N.Y. native scored a goal against No. 12 North Carolina

QUEENS, N.Y. – After helping the St. John's men's soccer team to a 2-2 draw against No. 7 North Carolina, senior midfielder Miguel Diaz earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday.

The Brooklyn, N.Y, product found the back of the net in the 31^st minute of Friday's tie. The midfielder broke into the box and rocketed a pass from Nigel Griffith for his third of the season. With three goals on the year, Diaz paces the team and is one of eight conference players to produce three or more tallies. The midfielder is also ranked 32^nd in the country with his three scores.

The Red Storm's leading scorer also sits sixth in the conference with six points. Diaz has also helped the Johnnies to a top-60 mark in the nation in goals.

St. John's will return to Belson Stadium for its 9/11 Red Remembers game against Princeton on Tuesday. The contest from Queens will begin at 7 p.m., and will be streamed to ESPN+.
