St. John’s to Take on Seton Hall on Saturday

The Red Storm will battle the Pirates at 1 p.m. inside Walsh Gymnasium
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's basketball team will head across the Hudson River to take on Seton Hall on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Saturday's contest will be streamed on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Chris Markowitz and Jackson Shank on the call from Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J. Live Stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm (11-8, 1-7 BIG EAST) will look to bounce back after dropping a nail-biter to Georgetown, 56-54, on Wednesday night in Washington D.C. The Johnnies engineered a 14-0 run over just 2:35 to tie the score for the first time all game with 2:13 left in regulation.
St. John's mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter against the Hoyas, outscoring them 27-14 while shooting 60 percent (9-15) from the field. The Red Storm also limited its opponent to under 60 points for the 10th time this season. The squad checks in at 19th in NCAA Division I in scoring defense, holding teams to just 55.5 points per game.
The Red Storm forced Georgetown into 21 turnovers, including seven in the final stanza. The performance marked the fifth time this season that the Johnnies have caused 20 or more turnovers in a single game.
Lashae Dwyer gathered a game-high five steals against the Hoyas, boosting her BIG EAST-leading total to 61 on the season. The senior's 61 steals and 3.2 swipes per game rank seventh and 10th in the country, respectively. Additionally, the Toronto native has registered five or more steals in a game four times this season.
Kylie Lavelle finished with double-digit points for the fourth time in the last five contests against Georgetown, adding a team-best 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting. The junior also drilled a triple for the sixth straight game on Wednesday. The Moosic, Pa., native currently leads the Johnnies with a 54.5 field goal percentage and is logging 10.4 points per game in BIG EAST play.
Ber'Nyah Mayo and Dwyer joined Lavelle in double-figures, finishing with 11 points and 10 points, respectively. Mayo has finished with double-digit points in five straight contests and in 11 of her last 14 games.

The Red Storm enters the matchup with a 51-38 all-time advantage over the Pirates, but Seton Hall boasts a 27-14 record against the Johnnies inside Walsh Gymnasium.
