St. John’s freshman forward dislocates patella during practice on Thursday
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's men's basketball freshman Imran Suljanovic suffered a dislocated patella late in practice on Thursday and will miss the 2025-26 season.

A 6-foot-8 forward from Vienna, Austria, Suljanovic will have surgery on Tuesday to repair the injury, which will require a four-to-five-month recovery period.

Suljanovic has extensive international experience in the Austrian national team system. He averaged 22.4 points and 5.6 rebounds over seven games at the 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket (B Division). Suljanovic most recently played for Pallacanestro Reggiana (Reggio Emilia) located in Northern Italy.

St. John's plays its first game against outside competition on Saturday hosting an exhibition with Towson at 2 p.m. inside Carnesecca Arena.
