Zuby Ejiofor Tabbed to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

St. John’s senior forward honored by the league for the third time this season
QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's men's basketball senior Zuby Ejiofor was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
Ejiofor was recognized by the league for the third time this season. The forward was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Nov. 10 and previously earned a spot on the honor roll on Dec. 8.
The Garland, Texas native guided the Johnnies to an 85-59 victory over Harvard in their non-conference finale at Carnesecca Arena on Tuesday. The Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year tallied 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win against The Crimson. The big man shot 4-of-8 (50%) from the floor and 6-for-8 (75%) from the charity stripe, as the Red Storm captured its 19th straight game inside its on-campus venue.
On the year, Ejiofor is averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 blocks per game. The team captain has registered eight double-digit scoring outings and paced St. John's in rebounding in six contests. The veteran ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in rebounds per game (7.2), second in free throws made (59), second in the league and 14th nationally in blocks per game (2.5).
Earlier this season, he made his presence in the post felt recording 20 rejections over a three-game span from Dec. 6 to Dec. 20, marking the first BIG EAST player to reach that block mark since St. John's Chris Obekpa in 2013. Ejiofor became just the second player in NCAA Division I in the last decade to tally eight or more swats in back-to-back appearances in wins over Ole Miss (Dec. 6) and Iona (Dec. 13).
Now in his third year in Queens, Ejiofor had a breakout campaign in 2024-25 earning the BIG EAST Improved Player of the Year award. He averaged 14.7 points and 8.2 boards per outing to lead the Johnnies to a BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament Championship. Prior to his senior campaign, he was tabbed to the- NABC Division I Player of the Year Watch List, Naismith Trophy Watch List and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Top 20 Preseason Watch List and named a Sporting News Preseason Third Team All-American.
Ejiofor and St. John's will be back in action on New Year's Eve when it meets Georgetown at Capital One Arena at 8 p.m. on FS1.
