St. John’s Moves to No. 6 in the Associated Press Poll and No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll

Red Storm keep moving up in national polls after clinching outright BIG EAST Regular Season title
QUEENS, N.Y. – The 2025 BIG EAST Regular Season Champion St. John's Men's Basketball Team slide up one spot in the national polls reaching No. 6 in the Associated Press (AP) poll and No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches' poll.
The No. 6 ranking, moving up a single spot from last week, marks the highest placement in the AP poll since it last cracked the top-five on Jan. 29, 1991. The Johnnies have been ranked inside the top-10 in the media poll for four consecutive weeks for the first time since it held a top-10 slot for seven weeks from Dec. 25, 1990- Feb. 5, 1991.
The Johnnies have now been included in the national rankings for seven consecutive weeks their longest stretch as a program since the 1998-99 team spent 16 straight weeks ranked.
St. John's slid up one spot in the USA Today Coaches' poll to sixth and have been ranked inside the top-10 in each of the last five weeks, dating back to Feb. 3.
The Red Storm captured its first outright BIG EAST Regular Season title since 1985 and the program's sixth-ever conference crown. St. John's has won a program record 17 BIG EAST games and have tallied the second-most regular season victories with 26 on the year, The Johnnies have won five-straight and 15 of their last 16 games, dating back to the turn of the new year.
St. John's will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon when it meets Marquette in Milwaukee for a 12 p.m. ET tip-off on FOX.
