St. John’s to Compete in Cayman Islands Classic

Red Storm will play two games over Thanksgiving in the Caribbean
GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands – The St. John's women's basketball program will compete in the 2025 Cayman Islands Classic from Nov. 28-29 at John Gray Gymnasium in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.
The Red Storm will participate in an eight team field with Charlotte, Florida, George Washington, Georgia Tech, Miami, Memphis and Oklahoma State. The Johnnies' two matchups, game times and broadcast information will be unveiled at a later date.
"This is a terrific opportunity for our program to have a special Thanksgiving together and play high-level basketball," Head Coach Joe Tartamella said. "It will be a great experience for our team to continue to bond and grow. We look forward to competing in what will be a great event."

The Johnnies will make their first ever trip to the Cayman Islands, a British territory located in the Caribbean known for its beautiful beaches, including the world-renowned Seven-Mile Beach.
The Red Storm return six players including three regular starters and added a talented crop of six newcomers heading into the 2025-26 campaign. Tartamella will enter his 14th season leading the program and has orchestrated 10 winning seasons at the helm of the program.
