St. John’s Head Coach Rick Pitino Joins WFAN Radio’s “Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata Show”

Pitino will join the show today at 11 a.m. to discuss St. John’s Basketball
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's men's basketball Head Coach Rick Pitino will join WFAN's Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata at 11 a.m. to discuss Red Storm Basketball in advance of tonight's ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium.

The 2024-25 National Coach of the Year, Pitino, will toss the ceremonial first pitch prior to the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians contest at 7:05 p.m. in the Bronx. Pitino will also join the Yankees Radio Network during the game on WFAN 101.9 FM and 660 AM with broadcasters Dave Sims and Suzyn Waldman. The interview will be live on the radio dial and streamed online here.
In just his second season at the helm, Pitino led the Red Storm to its first BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament Championships in a quarter century. St. John's earned a No. 2 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament as the native New Yorker became the first coach to bring six different programs to the Big Dance. Pitino received six different coach of the year awards, including three of the four major national coach of the year honors. Under his leadership, St. John's tied a program record with 31 victories and climbed as high as No. 5 in the Associated Press Poll for the first time since 1991.
