SJUs Hatten Named Co-BIG EAST Player of the Week

Hatten is the first St. Johns player this season to earn a conference award.
A transfer from Tallahassee Community College in Florida, Hatten averaged 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals as St. John's posted wins over St. Francis and the 20th-ranked Demon Deacons this week.
He came through big for the Red Storm against Wake on Saturday afteroon, scoring 21 of his game-high 26 points in the second half. He scored 17 of his 21 second-half points in the final eight minutes of the game, and connected on three three-pointers in the second stanza.
He leads the team in scoring with 17.5 points per game, is second in rebounding with 5.5 per game, and leads the team in both assists (4.4 apg) and steals (3.7 spg).
Earlier this season, he tied the school record for steals in a game, when he recorded eight against Tennessee during the Great Alaska Shootout. He recorded 16 during the Red Storms three games in Alaska, setting a Shootout record.
St. Johns returns to action on Saturday, hosting Quinnipiac at Alumni Hall at 2 p.m.
