St. Johns To Host Special Olympics

A volleyball and aquatics tournament will be held at Alumni Hall on the University campus.
The Opening Ceremonies are set to begin at 10 a.m. and competition will begin at 10:15 a.m. The events will finish at approximately 2:30-3 p.m.
Many Red Storm student-athletes will be assisting with the event, serving as lifeguards and referees, escorting competitors and serving as officials. The student-athletes are participating through the St. Johns LifeSkills program, which was the recipient of an award for Community Service and Degree Completion at the National Consortium for Academics and Sport in February.
Additional volunteers are needed for these events and for information regarding this please contact St. Johns Associate Athletic Director Mary Pat Beirne at (718) 990-1873. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt to wear.
