St. Johns Student-Athletes Named BIG EAST Academic All-Stars

To be named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star an athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher, participate in a BIG EAST sport and earn a varsity letter. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible for this honor.
Leading the way for the Red Storm was the baseball team with a total of 21student-athletes named BIG EAST All-Stars. The mens track and field was second with 18, while the mens soccer team was third with 15 student-athletes earning honors.
On the womens side, the softball and womens soccer team led the way with 11 members earning honors for each team. The womens track and field and swimming and diving programs added ten, while the volleyball team posted eight student-athletes with honors.
St. Johns University has a rich tradition of excellence on the field and in the classroom. The students-athletes of 2001-02 added to that tradition and set the standard for which future student-athletes will be judged.
