Hatten Signs Pro Contract with Los Angeles Clippers

August 14, 2003, Los Angeles, CA -- The Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association have announced the signing of former St. John's star guard Marcus Hatten (Baltimore, MD) to a pro contract.
"We are delighted to see Marcus sign as a free agent with the Clippers," head coach Mike Jarvis said. "He has all the tools to play in the NBA for years to come. Everyone at St. John's wishes him the best of luck as he embarks on his professional career."
Hatten led the Red Storm (21-13) in scoring last season averaging 22.2 points per game in leading St. John's to the National Invitational Tournament title. He was also named 2003 NIT Most Valuable Player and was honored as a First Team All-BIG EAST Conference selection at season's end.
The 6-1 guard played for the Clippers in the 2003 Summer Pro League in Long Beach, CA, and averaged 8.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in seven games.
