St. John's Television Schedule Announced

Queens, NY - The St. John's University men's basketball team announced their TV schedule for the 2004-05 season highlighted by the Red Storm's February 26th date on ABC Sports versus Duke at Madison Square Garden.
The television slate features 13 games on the MSG Television Network, three on the Metro Channel and two on FOX-NY. In addition, two games (both against Syracuse, at home on January 5th and away on February 23rd) will be picked up nationally by Time Warner Cable and ESPN Full Court.
The St. John's BIG EAST schedule at the Garden includes home contests with Syracuse, Pittsburgh (January 18th on MSG), Seton Hall (January 29th on MSG), Rutgers (February 2nd on MSG) and Villanova (March 5th on MSG).
"Our TV schedule matches us up against the best teams in our league and in the country," first year St. John's Head Coach Norm Roberts said. "It should be an entertaining season of top notch NCAA basketball that our students, fans and alumni can watch and enjoy."
The Red Storm return guard Daryll Hill (Queens, NY) along with forwards Lamont Hamilton (Brooklyn, NY), Tyler Jones (Lakeland, CO) and Phil Missere (Cornwall, NY) as well as center Mohamed Diakite (Rockville, MD). In addition, a talented crop of six new players will don St. John's jerseys led by Eugene Lawrence (Queens, NY), Dexter Gray (Mount Vernon, NY), Cedric Jackson (Burlington, NJ), and junior college transfers Ryan Williams (Queens, NY), Rodney Epperson (Queens, NY) and Jermaine Maybank (Bronx, NY).
St. John's non-conference TV battles will pit the Red Storm against Hofstra (December 11th on MSG) and in the Dreyfus Holiday Festival (December 28th versus Canisius) and N.C. State or Columbia on December 30th (both featured on the MSG Television Network).
FOX-NY will air the January 5th game at MSG against Syracuse and the February 18th home date at Alumni Hall versus West Virginia. Away games to be televised will include a road contest at Notre Dame (Metro) on January 15th and at Georgetown (Metro) on January 25th along with a showdown against defending national champion Connecticut on February 5th on MSG, at Pittsburgh on February 8th (Metro) and at Seton Hall (MSG) on February 12th. Two final BIG EAST away contests feature Syracuse (FOX-NY and Time Warner Cable) on February 23rd and at Providence on March 1st on MSG.
