Queens, NY - Beginning with this weekend's exhibition game on Sunday, St. John's University students can receive free tickets to Red Storm men's basketball games for the 2004-05 season.
As part of a new initiative, St. John's students with a valid ID card will be eligible to receive tickets. There are approximately 1,600 student tickets available per game at Alumni Hall and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis during select times at the Alumni Hall Ticket Office.
One ticket will be issued per student with a valid ID and must be picked up in person (no exceptions). Student ID and the game ticket are required to enter the arena when the doors open on game night.
St. John's Students must pick-up their tickets during these designated times. There are no student tickets once the arena doors open on game night.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Norm Roberts, St. John's will play eight games at Alumni Hall this season. Highlighted among those games is a November 23 date against St. Francis, when the court will be dedicated to Hall of Fame Coach Lou Carnesecca. The Red Storm will also play BIG EAST rivals Boston College (Jan. 22) and West Virginia (Feb. 16) at Alumni Hall.
A policy for St. John's games at Madison Square Garden will be announced soon.
