QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's head men's basketball coach Norm Roberts will conduct a one-day coaching clinic on Oct. 29, 2005, at the Red Storm's new state-of-the-art practice facility, Taffner Field House. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on St. John's Queens, NY, campus.
In only one season on the Red Storm sidelines, Roberts has revitalized the basketball program and has made St. John's once again a formidable competitor in the BIG EAST. First-year accomplishments for Roberts and his staff include victories over then No. 17 NC State, then No. 17 Pittsburgh and the championship of the 2004 Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden.
On the court demonstrations with St. John's players will be used for teaching purposes. The clinic staff will include St. John's assistant coaches Glenn Braica, Jose Martin, Fred Quartlebaum, Chris Casey and Will Lanier.
New York City Championship high school coaches will be on hand to speak on a variety of topics:

- Coach Johnny Mathis, John F. Kennedy - Practice Drills
- Coach Jack Alesi, Xaverian - Building an Offense

Clinic Schedule
- 10 a.m. - Clinic Registration
- 11 a.m. - Strength and Conditioning with St. John's Strength Coach Jeff Smith
- 11:30 a.m. - Panel of New York City and state championship coaches -- Program organization, program philosophy, offenses, defenses and set plays.
- 1 p.m. - Lunch
- 1:30 p.m. - Individual skill improvement and progression drills into the high/low offense with Coach Roberts
- 2 p.m. - St. John's practice
- 3:30 p.m. - Q&A with Coach Roberts -- Man-to-man defense, high/low offense
