QUEENS, N.Y. - Welcome to "Shooting 3's with Daryll Hill," a new weekly column on RedStormSports.com. Each week Daryll will log on to the official website of St. John's Athletics to discuss Red Storm hoops, upcoming games, what's going on with the team and an array of other topics.
Daryll's third column comes to us on Friday, Oct. 28. The preseason All-BIG EAST selection talks about the BIG EAST Media Day, the Red Storm Basketball Tip-Off event and how important he thinks student support is to the team.
Daryll welcomes input from his fans all season long. If you have a question for Daryll over the course of the season, be sure to e-mail here. Daryll will try to answer as many questions as possible.

DARYLL:
Hello and welcome back to "Shooting 3's With Daryll Hill."
Thanks for all of the e-mails this week and the compliments on the column so far. I'm always looking forward to your suggestions and questions.
I enjoyed my experience at BIG EAST Media Day on Wednesday. I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of the players from other teams and meet a lot of people from the media. A lot of the reporters asked us what we think about the new teams in the conference and things like that. A lot of them asked me about our team too, and agreed that we're going to be good this year.
I think a lot of people in New York feel that we're getting better as a team. They like the recruits and think our new guys are good. A lot of people have also promised that they'll be coming out to games. We really want a lot of people to come to our games this year.
Our team would really like to see our fellow St. John's students at our games this year. We want our classmates and people on campus to know that everyone on our team is friendly, and if you see us on campus, definitely come up and start a conversation. If you have any student groups that you want us to be involved with let me know, because just like you support us at games, we want to support you too.
The Red Storm Tip-Off on Thursday will be exciting. It will give our fans and the students a preview of what our team will be like this year. It should give everyone something to look forward to, because I think it's going to be a really exciting year. A fan e-mailed and asked about walk-on tryouts. Our walk-on guys are just like any other person on the team. They try out, play hard at practice, and really help us prepare. Sometimes they run offensive drills and defensive drills, and sometimes they are on the scout team. They take their jobs seriously and really help the entire team get better.
Thanks for logging on to "Shooting 3's With Daryll Hill." Don't forget to e-mail your questions.
-- Daryll
