Norm Roberts
Head Coach, St. John's University
On tonight's game:
"I give them credit. They made the big baskets and got the big shots. We just didn't get it done in the second half."
"We were excited by the game but just came out flat. I tell my guys every night there are nights the ball's just not going to go in. When it doesn't go in, you have to guard."
On the team's goals:
"I think we can learn from tonight if we want to. We have to be tougher. Our goal is not to just beat one team, our goal is to get our program where it belongs and we are taking steps in that direction."
Lamont Hamilton
Junior, Forward
St. John's University
On the match-up with Adrian Uter:
"They were packing it in. He is a physical player and I enjoyed battling him. In the end he just got the upper hand."
On being the "go to guy":
"I'm always ready to score at anytime but I also have to make sure that I'm playing good defense as well."
Eugene Lawrence
Sophomore, Guard
St. John's University
On tonight's game:
"It is a tough loss because in the first half we had a good margin over them. But when we came out in the second half, we just didn't execute the way we wanted to and I think it gave them the advantage to get going."
Tom Pecora
Head Coach, Hofstra University
On the team's performance: "We worked really hard in the second half. They did a good job of packing it in. We were able to just close them out defensively and went on a bit of a run to end the game. I'm very proud of the guys."
On Adrian Uter:
"Adrian Uter had an incredible impact on this game. He's a lot of people's favorite player at Hofstra for a lot of different reasons. He comes everyday and works hard and has been inspiration for all of us. I think for a kid from Springfield Gardens to come into Carnesecca Arena and have a game like that it was huge."
On Lamont Hamilton:
"Hamilton is a monster. What he's done with his body, he's just getting better and better and he's headed in the right direction."
Adrian Uter
Forward, Hofstra University
On his match-up with Lamont Hamilton:
"My goal was to slow him down and limit his rebounds. After that was done I concentrated on helping the guards."
