QUEENS, N.Y. - Head Coach Norm Roberts
On Wednesday's opponent, Marquette:
"Marquette is a veteran team. They are strong and physical. They try to pressure you and physically take you out of what you want to do. They attack off the dribble very well."
On the loss to Villanova:
"We played hard, but we made no shots. We missed some easy baskets and it set the tone for the game. We try to get them to understand what we did well when we were winning and what hurts us now. Instead of being disappointed, we have to understand and correct our mistakes."
On freshman Mike Cavataio:
"Mike deserves to be out there. He could help us get off to a better start and bring some energy. We are just trying to switch some things up and maybe give us a different look."
On the end of the regular season:
"Our guys came to play big games against great teams. It will take its toll on them, but they have to fight through. Every game is important. We have to try to win every single game."
Freshman Forward Justin Burrell
On the remainder of the season:
"In practice, we have been executing well, moving the ball and making shots. These are the kinds of practices we need to be successful. We have to keep fighting through the next six games. We can't dwell. We don't have time. The energy is still there and we just have to be tough. There is a sense of urgency, but we have to take it one game at a time."
On Mike Cavataio:
"He understands the game. He is making plays. It's great for our team to have his energy out there. I hope he can carry the focus and energy he had form the Villanova game over to tomorrow's game."
Junior Forward Tomas Jasiulionis
On tomorrow's game:
"Tomorrow's game is a new game. We have to pay attention to detail, play better defense, and execute better on the offensive end."
On what to focus on for Villanova:
"We need to be more focused and pay attention to detail. We have to know where to be on offense to run our plays and execute. We just have to keep going out and playing hard with intensity."
Junior Guard Anthony Mason Jr.
On what to focus on for tomorrow:
"We have to create and execute. We have to stay positive and get the job done."
Freshman Guard Mike Cavataio
On a possible start tomorrow:
"It would be great to start tomorrow. I didn't think that would happen this year. It means a lot to me to get the opportunity. We have to be patient. I feel that I understand what to do with the ball. We have to play with a lot of energy. My game has changed a lot since the beginning of the season. It is great to practice against guys of this caliber and it helps me improve. It has helped my game tremendously."
