- The Red Storm erased a 23-point second half deficit with a 10-0 run over a 2:25 span.
- St. John's shot just 23-of-40 (57.5 percent) from the free throw line. The Red Storm entered the game shooting 68.3 percent from the line, which ranked seventh in the conference.
- Anthony Mason Jr. scored 12 points in the first half and finished with 20 points for the third time this season-all in conference play.
- During the opening stanza, Mason Jr. scored seven consecutive points for St. John's during a 2:44 span.
- Mike Cavataio made his first career start after averaging 7.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in the past two games played at Madison Square Garden.
- Dele Coker made his third career start and first since Jan. 23 against Pittsburgh.
- Sean Evans finished 5-of-9 from the free throw line. Evans is now 11-of-21 over the past five games after opening the season by making just 6 of his first 26 attempts.
