QUEENS, N.Y. -
- Senior Tomas Jasiulionis made his first start of the season in this, his last game at Carnesecca Arena. The 6-11 center scored a first-half basket on a fade away jumper off the glass to give the Red Storm an early 14-12 lead. Jasiulionis finished with two points in five minutes.
- Sophomore Justin Burrell tallied a team-high 11 first-half points and six rebounds and finished the game with his second double-double of the season (15 points and 11 boards). The 15 points was the guard's highest point total since Jan. 22 vs. Cincinnati.
- Redshirt sophomore Rob Thomas tied the score at 37-37 on a fast-break jam at 2:16 of the first half, and then nailed two free throws to give St. John's a lead it would not give up.
- STJ finished the first half with a 16-6 run from 7:34 to the end, including an 11-0 run in the final 3:52. Sophomore Malik Boothe led the way during the 11-0 run with three points, two steals, two assists and two rebounds.
- Sophomore D.J. Kennedy led the Red Storm in scoring for the second-straight game with 21 points, marking his second back-to-back 20-plus-points scoring effort of the season.
- Sean Evans ' double-double effort was his team-leading sixth of the season. The sophomore finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
- The Red Storm's 27 offensive rebounds was a season high, the previous best was 20 against Marist (Dec. 20 at MSG - W, 65-44).
