QUEENS, N.Y. -
Head Coach Norm Roberts
On what improvements need to be made from the last meeting with Louisville:
"We have to rebound better. They hurt us on the glass. We need to work on our defensive rotation and moving our feet."
On the positives from the past few losses:
"We need to continue to play the same way. We have lapses on both ends that have turned the game around. We need to concentrate on the fundamentals."
On the 25th Anniversary 1985 Final Four team:
"Everybody loved that team. They were all local. You grew up watching them. Coach Lou Carnesecca built a family atmosphere and built a team that the city could rally around."
On what it means to have some of the St. John's legends on hand for the Louisville game:
"Coach Carnesecca always had family atmosphere. Those players come back in the summer and help with camps. We like having them come back to stay involved in what's going on here at St. John's."
Junior Guard D. J. Kennedy
On facing Louisville for the second time this season:
"It will be a big game for us. We are trying to get over the hump. We had a chance to win the game late on the road and made mistakes down the stretch, so we need to make sure that doesn't happen."
On the added incentive to play in front of the 25th Anniversary 1985 Final Four team:
"You always want to play well in front of guys like that that set the standard. We have to show them what we're about."
On becoming the 44th player in St. John's history to score 1,000 career points:
"I put in work everyday and it's an honor to be mentioned with the great names in St. John's history. I'm just trying to keep getting better."
