QUEENS, N.Y. - Team Notes
- St. John's finished with 14 steals, one shy of the season-high set on Dec. 1 against Wagner.
- St. John's forced Rutgers into a season-high 23 turnovers. The Scarlet Knights entered the contest averaging just 11.8 turnovers per game.
- St. John's, which entered the game averaging 12.4 turnovers, committed just 10. The Red Storm has had 10 or fewer turnovers in eight games this year and is 6-2 in those games.
- The Red Storm shot just 36.7 percent (18-for-49) from the floor, just the fifth time this season that the squad shot below 40.0 percent.
- Despite Rutgers shooting 47.6 percent (20-for-42) from the floor, St. John's held the Scarlet Knights 10.9 points below their season average (66.9).
Individual Notes
- Dwight Hardy led the team in scoring for a team-leading ninth time this season with a 15-point effort. The senior, who reached double-figures for the 17th time this season, is averaging 15.3 points in the past four games.
- Paris Horne finished with 12 points to reach double-figures for the second-straight game and third time in the past five contests. For the third-straight game, Horne made one 3-pointer and now has 135 treys in his career. Horne also tied a career-high with a game-high four steals.
- A 12-point effort for Justin Burrell included a perfect 6-for-6 night at the charity stripe. Burrell, who now has 946 career points, has gone a perfect 14-for-14 from the charity stripe in the past three games.
- After netting 4-of-6 six shots to finish with nine points, Justin Brownlee is now shooting 51.7 percent (15-for-29) and averaging 12.7 points in the past three games.
- Held scoreless for the first time in the past six games, Malik Boothe had a team-high three assists. Boothe has now dished out at least three assists in 12 games this season.
- Malik Stith registered his first points since dropping 12 at Louisville on Jan. 19. Stith scored four points in just eight minutes of action.
- Dwayne Polee II started his ninth-straight game and 15th of the year. Polee has scored in 12 of his 15 starts this season.
