QUEENS, N.Y. - Team Notes
- St. John's held San Francisco, which entered the game averaging 84.4 points per game, to a season-low 57 points.
- St. John's shot 49.2 percent (29-of-59), including a 51.5 percent (17-of-33) effort in the first half. The Red Storm improved to 6-2 this season when shooting better than the opposition.
- The Red Storm committed only 11 turnovers and forced a season-high 21 turnovers, the most since the squad forced 22 miscues against Fordham on Dec. 8, 2012. The Red Storm is 5-1 this season when committing fewer turnovers than its opponent.
- St. John's finished +11 (35-24) on the boards, the third time this season with at least a +10 advantage on the glass.
Individual Notes
- D'Angelo Harrison scored a game-high 18 points in just 24 minutes of action. Harrison went 2-of-3 from long range to finish the game with 151 made 3-pointers in his career, tying the St. John's program-record held by Willie Shaw.
- Rysheed Jordan scored 10 points to reach double-figures for the second-consecutive contest, while also adding three rebounds and four assists. Jordan has started the past three games and is averaging 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists in that stretch.
- Orlando Sanchez finished in double-figures for the second time in his career with an 11-point effort. Sanchez grabbed six rebounds and is averaging a team-best 7.0 boards in the past three games.
- JaKarr Sampson shot 7-of-11 from the floor to finish with 14 points, his eighth double-figure game of the year. Sampson is shooting 70.6 percent (24-of-34) from the floor in the past four games, while averaging 13.5 points in that stretch.
- Chris Obekpa matched a season-high with six points, his fifth six-point game this season. Obekpa also grabbed a game-high seven rebounds and swatted four shots, his eighth game this season with at least four blocks.
- Phil Greene IV had one turnover in 23 minutes of action. Greene now has four turnovers in 250 minutes played this season, one every 62.5 minutes.
- Marc-Antoine Bourgault went 1-of-1 from long range and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe to finish with five points. Bourgault is 4-of-5 (80.0 percent) from long range this season and has made his last four attempts, including a 3-of-3 effort against Fordham on Dec. 7 at Madison Square Garden.
- God'sgift Achiuwa scored seven points and grabbed a season-high four rebounds. Achiuwa is averaging 7.5 points in his last two games played.
