QUEENS, N.Y. - Team Notes
- St. John's finished with five players in double-figures, the third time this season with at least five double-figure scorers.
- St. John's shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the floor to improve to 3-0 this season when shooting at least 50.0 percent. The Red Storm shot 50.8 percent in a win against Youngstown State on Dec. 21 and shot a season-high 66.1 percent in a victory against Fordham on Dec. 7.
- The Red Storm shot 76.2 percent (16-of-21) from the free throw line, the fifth-straight game shooting at least 76.0 percent from the line. St. John's is shooting 79.2 percent (84-of-106) from the charity stripe in that stretch.
- St. John's committed 11 turnovers, but also forced 19 Seton Hall miscues to improve to 9-4 when committing fewer turnovers than the opposition.
Individual Notes
- Orlando Sanchez made a career-high three 3-pointers as part of a 16-point effort, his third double-figure performance in the past four games. Sanchez is averaging 11.8 points per game in the past four contests.
- JaKarr Sampson shot 8-of-11 (72.7 percent) from the floor to finish in double-figures for the third-straight game with a 16-point performance. Sampson is averaging 15.0 points in the past three games.
- D'Angelo Harrison finished with 16 points to reach double-figures for the 17th time this season. Harrison also grabbed a team-best six rebounds.
- Sir'Dominic Pointer scored 10 points to reach double-figures for the seventh time this season and the second time in the past three games.
- Rysheed Jordan dished out a game-high and career-best six assists, besting his previous mark of five helpers against Fordham on Dec. 7, 2013.
- Jamal Branch scored a season-high 11 points to record his first double-figure game since an 11-point effort against DePaul on Jan. 30, 2013.
- Phil Greene IV dished out four assists, his most since totaling five assists earlier this season against Penn State on Nov. 29. Greene also committed zero turnovers in 14 minutes of action and now has just seven miscues in 458 minutes, one every 65.4 minutes on the court.
