St. John's won its 12th-straight home-opener dating back to 2003-04. All 12 wins have come at Carnesecca Arena.
The Red Storm defeated Wagner in its home-opener for the second time in the past three seasons. The Red Storm also topped the Seahawks, 73-57, to open the 2013-14 season.
Four freshmen, including three that started, made their collegiate-debuts as part of a group of seven newcomers that saw their first action with the Red Storm.
The seven newcomers that saw action combined to total 58 points, including 33 combined points from the four freshmen.

Individual Notes

Freshman Federico Mussini scored a game-high 18 points in his first-career start and collegiate-debut. Mussini made 4-of-6 3-points as part of a 6-of-11 effort from the floor.
Freshman Malik Ellison started and made two 3-pointers as part of a seven-point performance in his collegiate-debut.
Freshman Yankuba Sima finished with eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in his first-career start and collegiate-debut.
Redshirt junior Christian Jones made his first start since the 2012-13 season and matched a career-high with 29 minutes played. Jones added six points and three rebounds, while matching a career-high with two blocks.
Graduate student transfer Durand Johnson scored 12 points in his Red Storm debut to reach double-figures for the 11th time in his collegiate career. Johnson played a career-high 33 minutes in the first start of his collegiate career.
Graduate student transfer Ron Mvouika added nine points in 28 minutes of action in his Red Storm debut.
Junior college transfer Darien Williams made his Red Storm debut and finished with four points to go with three rebounds in 20 minutes.
