Freshman guard Federico Mussini (Reggio Emilia, Italy) continued to perform at a high level leading the Red Storm in scoring for the fifth-straight game with 17 points to go with four steals. After missing its first seven 3-point field goal attempts, St. John's sank 7-of-11 the rest of the way and made it a four-point game with 16:05 left in regulation. The Red Storm was in striking distance down six with less than two minutes to play after a pair of free-throws from Yankuba Sima (Girona, Spain), but Indiana guard James Blackmon's 3-pointer on the ensuing possession put the game out of reach.
