Team Notes
- St. John's is now 25-29 (.463) all-time in BIG EAST Tournament play.
- After shooting a combined 49.0 percent (54-of-110) in two regular season games against Providence this season, St. John's was held to a season low 31.0 percent (18-of-58) from the floor.
- St. John's also shot a combined 50.0 percent (15-of-30) from beyond the arc in two regular season games against the Friars, but was held to just 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from distance.
- Providence grabbed 49 rebounds, the most by a St. John's opponent since the Friars pulled down 49 boards in last season's BIG EAST tournament matchup (March 13, 2014).
- St. John's has committed fewer turnovers than its opponent in 23-of-32 games this season.
Individual Notes
- Rysheed Jordan scored a team-high 18 points and set new career-highs in free throws made (11) and free throws attempted (16). Jordan has reached double-figure scoring in each of the past six games and is averaging 17.5 points in that stretch.
- Chris Obekpa scored four points and pulled down nine rebounds, his most boards since a nine-board effort on Feb. 21 vs. Seton Hall.
