QUEENS, N.Y. Â --Â St. John's guard D'Angelo Harrison was named a 2014-15 Senior CLASS Award Second Team All-American for NCAA Division I men's basketball as announced Friday.
Â
Chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I coaches, national basketball media and fans, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: classroom, community, character and competition.
Â
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.Â
Â
Harrison was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection for the second straight season. He finished second in the conference in scoring with 17.5 points per game and reached double-figures 30-of-33 contests. The 6-foot-4 guard became the program's third 2,000-point scorer and helped St. John's win 21 games to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
