St. John’s Senior Guard’s X-Rays Came Back Negative Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y. – X-rays performed on the right ankle of St. John's men's basketball senior guard Mustapha Heron on Wednesday came back negative. The Waterbury, Conn., native who has scored more than 1,600 points in his collegiate career, is considered day-to-day.
Despite missing the final minutes of Tuesday night's win over Brown, Heron recorded 21 points on 7-for-16 shooting and buried all six of his attempts at the free-throw line. It was his seventh double-figure scoring performance of the season and marked the third time he has broken the 20-point plateau.
The Red Storm has a seven-day layoff from competition for final exams before returning to action on December 18 versus Albany at Carnesecca Arena. St. John's will enter the contest riding a five-game win streak and boasts a 7-1 record in Queens this season.
