QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's men's basketball guard Dylan Darling will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday afternoon before the New York Mets take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Red Storm will be honored with an on-field ceremony for winning back-to-back BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament Championships at Citi Field.
Darling, a southpaw, will take the mound prior to the 4:10 p.m. start between the Mets and Diamondbacks. The contest from Queens will air on SNY and MLB.TV. Vice President and Director of Athletics Ed Kull will await Darling's pitch from behind home plate. Kull was a baseball standout at Stony Brook was the Seawolves first-ever All-America East First Team selection as a catcher in 2003.
Several players from this year's 2025-26 St. John's men's basketball team and coaching staff members will be in attendance at Citi Field, as the Johnnies will be recognized at the ballpark during Wednesday's game.
St. John's finished out the campaign with a 30-7 overall record and made its first appearance in the Sweet 16 since 1999. The Red Storm became the first program in the storied history of the BIG EAST to win the outright regular season crown and the tournament championship in consecutive years.
Located less than four miles away from the St. John's University campus, Citi Field was opened by the Red Storm on March 29, 2009, as the Johnnies took on Georgetown in the first-ever game at the ballpark prior to the 2009 MLB season.
