St. John’s Head Coach Mike Anderson to make his BIG EAST debut on New Year’s Eve

St. John's will look to take down Butler at home for the fourth consecutive year when it welcomes the Bulldogs to Queens on New Year's Eve at 7:30 p.m.
Butler, ranked no. 12 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, will be the second consecutive top 20 foe for St. John's, as the Red Storm beat No. 16/17 Arizona in San Francisco on Saturday night for the first ranked win of the Mike Anderson Era. Butler, coming off a win against Purdue in Indianapolis on Saturday, has suffered only one loss this season, a defeat at the hands of Baylor, ranked no. 7 in the week's poll, on the road in the BIG EAST/Big 12 Battle.
Anderson led the Johnnies to 11 wins in the non-conference portion of the schedule, the highest such total for a first-year St. John's coach since the BIG EAST formed in 1979.
