QUEENS, N.Y. (Jan. 30, 2020) – St. John's Head Coach Bob Guerriero has elevated former standout Grace Kramer to assistant coach on the Red Storm softball staff. Kramer has been on staff since September 2019 when Guerriero brought her on as a volunteer assistant coach.
During her career with St. John's, Kramer boasted 27 wins, four saves and 380 strikeouts over her four-year stint.
After making 17 appearances during the team's BIG EAST Championship run in 2015, Kramer emerged as a leader in the circle over the next two seasons. With her help, the Johnnies picked up their second conference regular season title in 2017. Kramer also captured a trio of BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week awards along with four Weekly Honor Roll selections.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in marketing and earning the BIG EAST Institutional Scholar-Athlete Award following the 2017 season, Kramer pursued an MBA in International Business while serving as a graduate assistant in the Student-Athlete Development office at St. John's. In addition to mentoring student-athletes, she also worked as a marketing intern for ProHEALTH Dental Management.
Following graduation in 2018, Kramer was promoted to Marketing Coordinator at ProHEALTH before taking assistant coaching duties at Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School this past season.
As a member of the Crusaders coaching staff, Kramer assisted with day-to-day practice schedules and game plans while the program entered a new division with a higher level of play. In addition to her duties at McClancy, Kramer also worked with aspiring softball players as a private instructor for girls ages 6-17 over the last three years.
