St. John’s Adds Danielle Patterson to Roster

Patterson joins the Johnnies from Indiana University
St. John's women's basketball head coach Joe Tartamella announced the addition of graduate student Danielle Patterson, who has committed to the Red Storm program for the 2021-22 season.
Patterson, a highly touted recruit out of The Mary Louis Academy in 2017, spent the last two years at Indiana University and will have two seasons of NCAA eligibility remaining. In her most recent season with the Hoosiers, the Brooklyn, N.Y., native saw action in 15 games.
Patterson put forth her best offensive output of her redshirt junior season against Eastern Kentucky. In that game, Patterson chipped in 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor, including a 2-of-3 mark from 3-point range.
Prior to her time at Indiana, Patterson had played two seasons at Notre Dame and was part of back-to-back National Championship appearances, including the program's second NCAA Women's Basketball Title in 2018. During her time at Notre Dame, Patterson appeared in 66 games, averaging 11.2 minutes per contest.
Patterson was a 2017 McDonald's All-American, as well as a 2017 Jordan Brand Classic All-American. She also ranked as the No. 5 small forward in the country for the 2017 class by ESPN HoopGurlz.
